things to think about...

just a few of the things that might bug ya after 6 years of mall employment....

*Children on Leashes. i've never been a fan of babies being tied down with strings. i know of a few people who argue that the child leash is a valuable tool if your kid has a tendency for wandering around and i even think my big sis was smart to leash up her twins while on a trip to Disneyland, but i guess my problem with the leash stems from the fact that most of the time the kids i see with the monkey on their back, are usually a little bit sad looking, and dont appear to be the type that would run away from dear Mamma. (please say "dear Mamma" with a british accent.)
*Face tattoo's. i'll be the first to admit that i think (MOST) tattoo's are kinda cool. i might even get one if the fear of my mom killing me wasnt so prominent. but lets be honest, shall we? what's with that dragon profile on your cheek? ya know, the one that looks like its opening it's mouth when you open you mouth? and on the other side, whats up with the tribal neck tat that somehow migrated it's curly tendrils up to you eyebrow?! think about it, when you're 86, you're going to be a ginormous wrinkle from all the pot you smoke, (pot is the only explanation) and those nasty tattoo's are gonna wrinkle right along with your face! GROSS.
*Boogers wiped right next to toilet paper dispensers. WHY?! seriously? is it that much more effort to just wipe it on a sheet of TP? really?! it's like an inch away!
*Iranian Kiosk sales people. the line "Please, miss, may i ask you a question?" gets really old. dude, i walk by you every day. twice a day. and every day, twice a day, i explain that i work in the mall, i'm not interested in any secret oils or magic potions, and i ask you to please stop asking me if you can ask me a question. its always the same 3 guys and girls too, so there isnt even the excuse of them not recognizing me. do i need to get downright mean and nasty with them?

and a few more that make you smile.....

*Elderly Couples holding hands while they stroll along. or the man with his arm around his wife as they sit on a bench. its just so cute! and it makes me want to work hard at life and marriage to be there someday.
*Joan. Joan is the manager of Mrs. Cavanaugh's chocolates. Joan is probably 80, and as quick as a whip and just as funny as an old time southern woman can be. she frequently brings in bags of candies and clever emails for us to read. i'll admit that they are not always as funny as she thinks they are, and sometimes, they're a little bit racist, but we always smile and laugh because they make her so happy....and because she brings us candy.
*Running in to old friends. Suzy and Lucy Rice, Jill McClellan and her granddaughters, Angie Jer and Isaac, Jillian, Beki, other girls from school, Andrew my "little brother" from school, people from my home ward, people from my singles ward, even just the familiar faces of my fellow mall employee's, its nice to see people you know and love wandering around.
*Mall Employee DISCOUNTS! oh man i love those! Forever Young, Iceberg, Pretzel Maker, Subway, and Gray Whale, just to name a few of the generous stores that offer a discount to anyone employed at good old University Mall.
*the Zion's Bank Ladies and Gent. everyday for almost 6 years, i've visited this fine establishment. and i'm happy to say that i know all of the tellers rather well, and they seem genuinely interested in their customers.
*hearing Owl City followed by Debbie Gibson, Carrie Underwood, Jason Mraz and then Journey. LOVE IT!
*being in such close proximity to 5 Guys, the Italian Place, Smashburger, Rubio's, Chick-fil-a, J Dawgs, In-n-Out etc. etc. etc.
*American Eagle, Gap, Charlotte Russe, Maurices, Forever 21, Forever Young, Famous Footwear...'nuff said.

HA HA HA!!!! Love it! I HATE THOSE KIOSK PEOPLE! I remember they moved them right outside the TCP door at one time and I was so terrified to leave for my lunch or dinner break at first! It's so funny because they're at like EVERY MALL IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY! They must be cloning them or something!
