impatience...I'm waiting...and waiting...

i have a habit, it's not a dirty habit, it's not even necessarily a bad habit, it's just the little habit i have of scouring web sites like amazon, deepdiscount, FYE and FORMERLY walmart.com (a long story that encounters mother nature's monthly gift, and hour and a half on the phone with computer generated telephone menus, my a** kickin little sister Ashley, and more tears than i'd like to admit...) to find deals on DVD's, books and CD's...sometimes i'll pre-order things, but then i occasionally forget what i have ordered, and as a result of that, i get a few surprise packages every year. the trouble is, most times i remember exactly what i ordered, when i ordered it, and i want it to get here NOW. this last week i found a steal on the Anne of Green Gables trilogy and the full series of Arrested Development so, i ordered 'em. kind of an interesting combination, i'll admit it, but i wanted both, so i got both. anyway, since placing my order, i check my email 4 to 6 times everyday, to see if i have any news from amazon. if i don't, then i go right to amazon.com and click on my account, enter in my email address and pass word and go straight to the "where's my stuff" button. everyday, 4 to 6 times a day, the words on my screen haven't changed, my stuff is still being processed. am i alone in this crazed obsession i have with getting my stuff? i want it. i want it real bad. i want it right now. sure, i could pay full price and pick these items up at my local FYE, Barnes and Nobel or Target, sure i could, but I wont. cause ya know what? there's nothing i love more than a good deal on books and movies. and ya know what else? i bet you a quarter that none of those stores have the Anne of Green Gables Collectors Edition Trilogy, digitally remastered so that my sweet Gilbert Blithe's face is no longer all fuzzy because of the gross over viewing of my 20 year old tapes, in stock. they'd have to special order it for me. so what's the point really? i'd still be waiting...waiting...sitting, waiting, wishing...
